Surprisingly poor. – Jungle Warrior – 3D Barbarian warriors revenge simulation game Review

The game looks nice, but almost no effort seems to have gone into the gameplay. The first level has you run across a field with your hammer, crushing the skulls of whatever lions, elephants, deer or foxes are in your way. They have to be in front of you, though, because it takes abysmally long to turn. There are four buttons and the standard on-screen joypad to make you think that you have the normal control you would in am adventure title. They're mostly for show, though. Like I said before, the joypad turns so slow that it would almost be faster to restart the level and run back to where you were. The other four buttons aren't much better; there's a sprint button which sends you along with great loping strides as long as you hold it, which is the only "as long as you hold it" that makes sense. You have two attacks, both of which seem to be about the same speed, and if you tap the button the attack will not happen. You must hold the button until the animation completes, because the moment you let go it will cease whether or not anything has happened. This leads to a lot of half-finished swings because you will kill something, then let go halfway through the next swing and go back instantaneously to the standing pose. The other button "jumps." I used quotes there because while it makes your character move upward briefly LIKE a jump, there's no animation whatsoever. It's like taking an action figure and moving it upward a bit. Absolutely all expense has been spared for this game's animations and it shows.
