Absolutely awful controls, nothing like the original – Double Dragon Trilogy Review

I wanted to like this game...but it is beyond aggravating to play. The controls are so god awful it makes the game unbearable to play. As for the AI...it is absolutely, positively NOTHING like either of the originals for NES. Not even remotely close. The instant the come near you, they relentlessly unleash a barrage of attacks...over and over and over again. You get punched several times and then knocked down, and without a nanosecond to spare, the very instant you automatically get up, you get beaten and knocked down again. The original wasn’t like this whatsoever. Trust me, I enjoy a challenging game, but this game doesn’t give you the opportunity to even play. Did I mention the controls are an abortion?
