No alert/sound/poor connection. It is silent, sneaky message like a thief in the night. You wouldn’t know it was there until you open the apps. And viola!! Not connected as the apps says when you open it. You become not connected to people also whom you are communicating using this apps. Not reliable at its best which is a good thing if you plan to abandon or ignore the people around you. Treat this apps like using it in a remote area where distant communication is optional or a luxury.
