play all you want but way too grindy – KING'S KNIGHT -WoDD- Review

i see that this game does not utilize the "energy system" to limit your play. you can play it as much as you want. however, to counterbalance this, they went to mmorpg route and made the game into a grindfest. you need hundreds upon hundreds and sometimes thousands of "materials" from running the stages, but the stages only give you like 2-3 or sometimes 5 of the material. causing you to have to run the stages again and again and again. take the "spirit" event they put out for halloween. you need to collect these dark pumpkin lantern items to unlock douglas' abilities to reforge the skullblade to buy the items in the exchange. I added them up and you need a total of 2500+ of them, and the final level of the event takes 5 minutes to clear and only drops between 3-8 of them. at an average of 4-5, that means i have to run the level over 500 times. i see the gimmick is to get you to buy consumable items that multiply the drops x5 for a half an hour. so buying one of these items translates to, i dunno, like an extra 150 materials before the time runs out...still doesn't put much if a dent in it. you literally have to play 10-15 hours a day just to make progress. although, its interesting that the game awards lots of xp to your characters. you can max out top tier characters levels in just a few hours...but the massive amounts of materials to unlock their abilities to promote them will keep you grinding for weeks. on the up side, if that's what you like to do, if you want to play a freemium game for 15 hours straight, you can do it with this game. i played for a day and found the game just way too abusive of my time.
