I enjoyed the game and was kinda surprised that it got the plug pulled on it so quickly! Would be nice if you would at least re-release a offline remake of the original game or something. I remember playing this on NES eons ago.

As a young boy I loved playing Nintendo after school and on weekends. One of the hardest and most fun games I played on the NES was a weird little game called “Kings Knight”. As far as weird Japanese games go this was probably my introduction into wacky weird and fun Japanese games. It was so different than the hundreds of Mario and Zelda clones out there on the NES and I had played nothing like it. Now I see all these people crying over it, so I figure they are either unaware that this is a remake or know it’s a remake but never played the original so have no clue what the game is about. As someone who was a aware of the fact it’s a remake and as someone who played and beat the original I have to say this game is faithful to its source material. I really enjoy the game.

I downloaded this game about a month ago, after looking into a lot of the free to play games of similar play. It seemed pretty great, lots of in-app currency and it is possible to get a lot of it when you play and log in every day. You need this to get new characters and weapons. Up until the last update, when spending to get 10 weapons or 11 characters I always got at least 1 4*. NOT ANY MORE. now you have to buy the in app currency and use that to purchase weapons or characters because I'm lucky to get a crappy 3*. You won't get anywhere with 3* characters or weapons.

play all you want but way too grindy

i see that this game does not utilize the "energy system" to limit your play. you can play it as much as you want. however, to counterbalance this, they went to mmorpg route and made the game into a grindfest. you need hundreds upon hundreds and sometimes thousands of "materials" from running the stages, but the stages only give you like 2-3 or sometimes 5 of the material. causing you to have to run the stages again and again and again. take the "spirit" event they put out for halloween. you need to collect these dark pumpkin lantern items to unlock douglas' abilities to reforge the skullblade to buy the items in the exchange. I added them up and you need a total of 2500+ of them, and the final level of the event takes 5 minutes to clear and only drops between 3-8 of them. at an average of 4-5, that means i have to run the level over 500 times. i see the gimmick is to get you to buy consumable items that multiply the drops x5 for a half an hour. so buying one of these items translates to, i dunno, like an extra 150 materials before the time runs out...still doesn't put much if a dent in it. you literally have to play 10-15 hours a day just to make progress. although, its interesting that the game awards lots of xp to your characters. you can max out top tier characters levels in just a few hours...but the massive amounts of materials to unlock their abilities to promote them will keep you grinding for weeks. on the up side, if that's what you like to do, if you want to play a freemium game for 15 hours straight, you can do it with this game. i played for a day and found the game just way too abusive of my time.

This game would be a lot of fun, if it wasn't just constantly loading ALL THE TIME! I just completed a few of the storyline quests, and now when I open the app, it stays stuck on 0%. I gave it like 10 minutes, which is far too long in the first place. I've tried resetting internet, restarting device, reinstalling the app. It just won't download. Sorry, but great concept, horrific execution.
