Good game, bad update – Traffic Panic Boom Town Review

This is free to download and play, so it gets 3 stars because it IS fun and very simple to pick up and play when you have a little bit of time or when you have a bit more. I've spent $0 to date on this app (no IAP) and so far have not felt I needed to in order to enjoy the game. That being said, this update/ version is worse than the any previous - in every stretch of the imagination. The bonus structure is way different from the previous -- not as rewarding. Previously it seemed like you were rewarded bonus $$ for the banners you gained, so even if you didn't get through a complete intersection, you could get a high bonus. Now it seems to be either $0 or 10% of your monetary gain that turn. Because of this, upgrading buildings takes more time and leveling up takes more time -- none of this interests me, nor does it encourage me to spend money to upgrade. I'm waiting for the cash vehicle to be present more instead of big after-turn bonuses so that you are encouraged to spend your diamonds (and therefore have to buy diamonds via in-app-purchases). If this is the future of this game, it may become the next app I delete....
