No Longer Great (Sadly) – mSecure Password Manager Review

Update: Not looking forward to the new v5. The current wifi sync and backup options work great for me. I have used this app and its Mac companion apps with great confidence. I will not use their or anyone else's cloud. I understand the need to make a reasonable profit and wish there was another way for the developer to get fairly compensated for this very useful app. Sorry to downgrade it in anticipation of the change. Not confident that this version will remain supported. From 2 years ago: So has this app joined the lamentable iOS7 trend toward form over function, disappearing buttons, weird colors, and excessive blank space? Perhaps, but note that in settings you can largely overcome it by selecting a return to the old color icons. In a significant functional improvement, the new iPad version now puts almost everything on one page with a split screen for individual entry details— a welcome departure from the silly trend toward more page levels and more empty white space. I don't like it that there is no button or other clue for copying an item like the password. You have to guess that tapping the item will copy it. The garish turquoise edit button is almost illegible. The cost for the non-essential new photo/custom icon option, however, is trivial. This is on balance still a great app, and I don't begrudge the developers getting a little more for it through an optional in-app purchase.
