Dark Realm: Mad Head Games does it again! – Dark Realm: Lord of the Winds - Hidden Objects Review

It's a continuation of the adventures of Valera (although you don't have to have played the previous games to follow along). As always, you are fighting to save your kingdom and your friend Nathaniel has your back. He gifts you with his special bow and arrow (you pick up additional arrows with special functions along the way) - each time you use the fetch arrow, you have to solve a "free the blocks" puzzle which starts out pretty easy and gets a little more complicated each time. Typical beautiful graphics from Mad Head games; I got caught up in the story fairly quickly and oh my - the demo certainly ended in a cliff hanger. It was an automatic buy for me, just to find out what happens next. Map is annoyingly under the menu as opposed to a separate item accessible directly from the game screen. Another small annoyance is the need to do the same thing multiple times (i.e. To unscrew four screws, you have to keep bringing up the screwdriver from your inventory to each screw - ugh). There are Hidden feathers in each scene (icon in the corner shows where you still need to find one). Inventive HOGs with morphing objects in each HOG. Available today: Kingdom of Aurelia: Mystery of Poisoned Dagger (Absolutist ltd) - no trial, $4.99 (4.2 stars, Sept. '16) - I'll probably wait until they release the version with the free demo. Upcoming Games from Big Fish Games: (# stars is average review on BigFishGames.com for the PC or Mac version, date is the day the game was first released on any platform - usually PC or Mac) Dark Parables: Swan Princess and the Dire Tree (3.8 stars, Eipix, Jul. '16)
