Excellent! I have one hint......? – Virtual Villagers 3: The Secret City for iPad Review

The game is going really good so far and I have a way of keeping my villagers alive. First, go to options. Then you select pause. Finally you can put it on slow and play each day because your chief can create food every 24 hours. After you have saved up enough food, you do not have to worry about them starving.????????????????????????
