Amaranthine Voyage: Brrr - bundle up before you play! – Amaranthine Voyage: Winter Neverending - Hidden Review

HEADS UP: LOST GRIMOIRES 2 FROM ARTIFEX MUNDI IS OUT! Free trial and introductory price! 3.5 stars bumped down to 3 Eipix brings a new chapter to the Amaranthine Voyage series - this time you are investigating a distress signal to a wintery cold world. Beyond some initial annoyance at the heroine (they never do explain why she faints as soon as she goes through the portal), the game slowly picked up momentum. Graphics are mostly crisp. A little touchy with selecting objects in the HOG scenes. Nice options for the custom mode of play, transportable map that shows where actions are needed, collectible doohickeys (not sure what else to call them!) in each scene, some HOGs contain morphing objects (but not all). Reasonable time-waster but I ended up passing on this game - demo just didn't provide a compelling enough reason for me to keep playing when it ended.
