Two ???? – Amaranthine Voyage: Winter Neverending - Hidden Review

I've played 100s of these games, so I'm not a novice. Could not get past first HOP. Very dark, not crisp like one person said. And could not locate objects needed to proceed. Hint button (which I never use on HOP) was useless, of course I know I need the cloth BUT can't find how to cut it. ?. Really dislike this game.
