Cannot save game – Jules Verne's Journey to the center of the moon HD Review

I downloaded this on my iPad. The game seems like it may actually be fun and well created, but I cannot save it. If I stop playing, and then reopen app I have to start all over from beginning. Very frustrating. I was also not able to find any walk through/help information for the iPad version if it.
