Bughouse At Last! – Bughouse Chess Pro Review

I was thrilled to finally see a bughouse chess app, and happily surprised that it allows one to play against computer opponents. Unfortunately, the only means of adjusting computer strength is choosing either Aggresive or Tactical play. Aggresive play moves more quickly but less skillfully than the slower Tactical play setting. Not that the tactical setting is particularly skilled. Its main strategy is to move most of its pawns to the center of the board, which is a terrible strategy for any chess play, but especially so for bughouse. It would be nice not only to see the computer's bughouse strategy improved, but also to have much more adjustability of the computer's strength, as is the case on virtually every other chess app. Also, displaying both boards simultaneously on an iphone screen makes for some pretty tiny pieces, especially with the wide margins which make the boards even smaller than they need to be. I would like the boards to be larger or to have an option to display just my board in a larger size with a toggle to see both boards when desired. It would also be nice to be able to save games. The app is still very buggy, ALWAYS crashing after two or three games, pieces sometimes becoming invisible, and other odd issues. I hope these bugs will be addressed soon, as it is becoming quite annoying. All that withstanding, I am enjoying this app, and will continue to play it, at least until something better comes along. Kudos to the developer for bringing us bughouse. Now please fix your app.
