Not terrible nor wonderful – EvoCreo™ Lite - Monster Battle Review

EvoCreo has nice graphics. the creatures don't look like generic everyday animals and their sprites are well-made. The player and NPCs look nice. The music is beautiful, especially the Title screen. The game seems plenty long too. I just feel like there are too many things about the game that makes me not even want to complete the Lite version, nor buy the full game. The controls are uncomfortably small, but they're still manageable. The screen in the overworld seems too zoomed in on an iPhone and probably seems worse on an iPad. The player can't run (maybe later in the game, but I never got that far if it exists) which makes the game take longer. The attacks the creatures do has damage that varies too much and seems to never deal enough, causing battles to take longer than they should. I also noticed that people have said that this game is better than Pokémon, probably because EvoCreo is new to them, and when one plays something new, they seem to praise it to be more than what it really is. EvoCreo is basically a dollar game like Pokémon Firered and Leafgreen, with visual and sound upgrades, but with gameplay downgrades. It also seems to be based off Pokémon. The EvoCreo Farm is the Lab in Pokémon, there are three starting creatures to choose from, your Mom acts as the first healing center, and your room is the entire upstairs with the television at the top center and the bed all the way to the left. (Yes, I noticed that your room is set up the same way in both games) For being a dollar, it seems like a great game, except for the unusually slow battles. If you're willing to put hours into battling slow creature battles, I have nothing against you. I'm just not willing to do it. But I do like the fact your father disappeared and there's no spoiled rival that pops up out of the blue while your team is nearly dead and fights you. Oh, wait never mind, your rival is your sister. She also happens to have a powerful Elecat that destroys every creature in its path. Elecat: hard-to-find cute electric-type creature that lives in a less-traveled part of the first forest in the game. Sounds like Pikachu.
