Fun, yet grindy. Maybe generous. – TALES OF LINK Review

tl;dr: fun game, entertaining story, good time sink, terrible gatcha rates, no money needed to enjoy the story and skits (just grinding and time) It's a fun game, even more so for Tales fans. Even if you don't have luck in the hero summons, you don't need powerful 5 stars to complete the main story and get good weapons. If you just want to play for the story and fun skits (srsly tho, def funny at times), you won't have many problems with the game. If you want to play for the end game, that's where you will start running into some problems. 50 stones per hero summon which may or may not get you a 5 star vampiric healer to get through the end game. amount of healing you get from it carries you through the end game. It's a 6% chance for each hero to be 5 stars. There are sometimes guarantees or tickets you can save up from multiple hero summons and redeem for a guaranteed 5 star. However, with the advent of 6 star Barbatos (earned through the end game), even new players can get a leg up from his leader skill through friends who have him. The end game isn't as tough anymore with him as a second leader skill. It alleviates some of the salt from getting screwed over on a hero summon. The game is also generous though. You can get hundreds (400+) of the stones through the main story, some from login bonuses, 1 for clearing all stages of an event, and 28 as grinding rewards from the soul arena every 3 weeks. Once you eat through all the free stones then the hero summons start to get expensive. A lot of other games like this one don't give out so much free premium currency though.
