Expensive, low quality content – Curious - the game of learning Review

I shouldn't say this is just a frontend for Youtube, because the video selection and sometimes the quality of the material is actually lower than what's available on youtube for some subjects. I really tried to like this app, but it failed on another front. It makes you spend 15 minutes or so customizing your interests and only after all that do you find out that it will cost you $50 / year to use it. You get a free month trial however and I really hoped to find a use for it, but it just failed so miserably at providing useful content. The very first recommended lesson for me was pumpkin carving and I can't fathom how that's related to any of the IT, math and science stuff that I indicated interest in. I stuck with it, however, and tried doing manual searches for content. It was after finding a video on programming theory where I made sure my trial sub was cancelled and deleted the app. The video consisted of some random guy in a poorly lit room reading wikipedia pages with a split screen showing the wiki page and using his cursor to highlight what he was reading. Seriously and literally. In between reading pages he would attempt to summarize what he had just read in his own words but usually just muddied the waters. Maybe the content is better in other fields like pumpkin carving. I never did watch that video.
