Great concept, didn't always pan out – Mr. Robot:1.51exfiltrati0n.ipa Review

I really love the originality of this game- I love the pacing and how it really tries to bring you in and makes you feel like you're a part of the Mr. Robot world. The characters are well written and I could tell who everyone was just by how they talked. I loved waiting for the next text message and was really sad when it ended. It is pretty cool how the game sort of plays out in "real time" (kind of). There were several drawbacks, however: 1). It's buggy. I was stuck in the same set of conversation loops about 3 times until I did it "correctly" and then I was being praised for progressing and berated as if I failed at the same time- it was really confusing and the whole thing really killed the immersion. 2.) Little things were overlooked that threw things off- i.e. Elliot's name was never revealed but somehow my "character" knew it and used his full name at a couple points. Another immersion-killer. 3.) It's really short. I would hope that the buggy conversation loops would be avoided and everything cleaned up for such a short game, but it's a bit messy. Overall it's up to you if it's worth $3. I enjoyed it enough for that price, but wish it was more polished. If you don't like waiting around for text messages (the game dictates the pace at which you play- not you), then you might want to skip it. I personally think that's a part of its charm.
