I miss Solforge :( – SolForge Review

Six months ago, i had this game open constantly. The app had its flaws, but it was easy to use and the game became more compelling with each new set release. But ever since the 7.0 "complete redesign", I've been unable to play on my iPad 2 (yes, it's old, but the old version ran fine, and according to the app description, the new one is still compatible with iPad and iPhone). Constant crashes, slow and gratuituous animation, cards that are difficult to read. Even if I could play, the redesign is a UX nightmare--too many clicks to accomplish simple tasks (like opening a new pack of cards or launching a game in progress); card text that is both harder to read and harder to find than the old version; card art that no longer fits in the designed card layout. Some features from the previous game have been completely lost--pass and play has disappeared (much to my daughter's disappointment) and so have untimed games with random opponents (now there are only timed games--with a full-time job and family of six, that's a non-starter for me). It feels like nothing so much as a port from the Windows PC environment--a DOS port at that. Only Apple's Podcast app has filled me with more righteous anger than Solforge 7.0.
