Can't customize. – TripList - Packing List Manager Review

I've had this app on my iPad for over six months and I've loved it! However, I just downloaded it to my iPhone and found out that with the new version you have to pay $4.99 to be able to add things ('customize') to your list. This is absolutely absurd. I can get a piece of paper for free and write my own list. I really loved this app when it was easy and free for you to be able to add or delete items, but now that you can't do that, it's really useless to me.
