Sets the bar for puzzle adventure gaming! – Paranormal State: Poison Spring - A Hidden Object Adventure Review

This is the first time I've purchased a game from the developer, but the description and the tie in with the A&E show were enough for me to give it a go. I was thrilled to discover that it was absolutely fabulous! The voice acting, graphics, soundtrack and overall presentation were top notch. Items are clearly labeled; the hidden object puzzles often involves multiple steps to find or put together the object. If you have trouble finding an item, zooming in is extremely helpful. This is much more than an HOP game, though. Not only are there a number of novel puzzles to solve, but the quest itself is a continuous puzzle as you try to determine where to go and what to do next. The journal is a beautifully written diary that preserves both photos and clues for your reference. The map, task list, and built in strategy guide were perfect. You are completely immersed in this truly eerie adventure, and I never wanted it to stop. For those reviewers disturbed by the ads that intermittently interrupt the game at the beginning -- and those videos really are obnoxious -- the ads vanish as soon as you pay for and unlock the full game. And what is the price for this high-quality adventure? A mere $2.99! Don't hesitate to pay the price upfront, and you'll never have to see an ad. I can't wait for the next installment. I would give this game six stars if I could. Big Fish and its competitors should be worried.
