The app is good, but it needs a lot of improvements. – Saber Movie FX Review

This app is good, don't get me wrong, but there are some things that could be better. The sounds: the lightsaber clashes need to sound more like the ones from Star Wars. You need to have more of a variety of sounds to choose from as well; two clashes and two wave sounds is not good enough. The sound of a lightsaber clash is dependent on how the two lightsabers strike one another. You need to have a larger variety of sounds. The sound they have for blade on and blade off is so bad, it needs to be redone. You also need to add a lightsaber binding sound. I don't know why they didn't have that already. The looks: It would be nice to be able to adjust the way the lightsaber blur looks. A lot of times in my videos, my lightsaber's blur is too wide for the blur effect to fit into it properly. You should have an option to make points for the outline of the blur, just like in Adobe. This one is an absolute must. You need to have the light flash effect for where the lightsabers make contact. Why didn't they have it,? They should now that that is very important to include, and it shouldn't be that hard. Give us a couple of different clash looks to choose from and that problem is fixed. More lightsaber colors would be nice. A list of every lightsaber color: Blue, green, red, purple, yellow, white, orange, black (dark saber,) cyan, magenta, bronze, gold, silver, pink (yes, there is a pink lightsaber.) There were lightsabers with black cores which still emitted a set color that include: red, yellow, orange, purple, blue, green (rakghoul,) green (razer [spelled correctly.]) There were also combined lightsaber colors which include: Yellow-green, yellow-orange, cyan-blue, red-orange, and purple-pink. I know that they won't include every color, but I felt that I needed to mention them all to show you how many there actually are. My source was Fact Free on YouTube. To the developers, check out his video to make sure you get the coloration correct, it would make a lot of Star Wars fanboys (and girls) upset. If you made dark saber effects, that would make this app absolutely incredible. The sounds and the changing white lines on the saber. That would bee freaking awesome. Another little thing that would be nice: adding force lightning and lasers. (Yes, I know in the Gun FX app there are lasers. What I'm saying is lasers from Star Wars. With the correct looks and sounds. You should be able to increase the travel distance of the laser without increasing size of the laser.) Continuous lasers would be nice, like the ones from LAAT gunships. Someone else mentioned this, and they are totally correct. You need to have an effect where it showstopper where someone cut with a lightsaber. For example: if you slice a metal pole with a lightsaber, you will see that the area that has been cut is superheated and some metal has melted, and then slowly cools. Or if you cut of an arm, you want to have the smoldering orange and black colors. Also having a lightsaber shine effect would be so awesome. If you look at any light source, you will see shine. Lightsabers do that too, and they should include that effect. Enough of my rambling, I know that this is just an app and not Adobe After Effects, and there is only so much you can do. But don't set the bar so low. I know the developers can do better. Again, don't get me wrong. This app is good, but I find myself not really using it all that much anymore, and when I do use it, I leave out sounds because they're pretty crappy. It takes a long time to edit, which is expected from editing frame-by-frame, and it doesn't quite seem worth the effort anymore to spend so much time editing and come out with a crappy video. Also, I've encountered some bugs. If I had lightsaber effects to the first couple frames, it adds the previous frame's effects to the next frame, and if I delete it, it erases both frame's effects. I find that annoying. Also, what is the frame rate and pixel resolution. I've experimented with Outerspace Software LLC's effects apps. I've imported a video that has already been edited in the app, and I've noticed that some frames are missing. It never really stuck out a whole lot until I came across it in Gun FX. The muzzle flash was missing in the video, but the smoke was still there. And I could tell that the frame rate was pretty bad. They may have fixed that problem in Gun FX when they redid the app, but the problem still lingers in Saber Movie. If anyone has read through the entire review, thumbs up to you. Developers, this app has great potential, make it the best it can be. I do enjoy your apps, especially Gun FX. I've made some pretty good videos with that app.
