Baffled – Modular Synthesizer Review

Obviously this app took a lot of skill to develop. I can't understand why it was abandoned. I've tried to write the developers and see if it could be ported to Mac. No reply. Everyone who uses this loves it and hates it. It's the BEST virtual modular synth out there, on any platform. And it works. You can build whatever you want to. It sounds good. It even looks nice. But it's very hard to actually use. The GUI is awkward, even on iPad. I'm not mad about the patch cables, they are easy to lock and set transparency. But the fact that it doesn't use the whole screen and you can't "fold" sections when making adjustments really makes it a nuisance to operate. If they would just update the SIZING and FOCUS so you could navigate better, it would be a huge improvement. And the pale colors of the patch manager and other backgrounds?? Maddening. Darker colors and better contrast would make a huge difference. I've been struggling with this app for a couple of years and keep trying to make real use of it but it burns me out after a few minutes each time. It has Audiobus support and EVERYTHING for pro work but it's just impossible to navigate. What a shame :)
