Nice start but some rough edges – Seattle Traffic Cam Review

It was nice to finally see an iPhone app with some Seattle traffic detail. MultiCam is a fairly simple app which essentially takes traffic cam images from publicly available web sites and organizes them nicely by route. All the main Seattle routes are included such as I90, I5, I405, SR520, etc. You can select a Traffic Cam and make it a Favorite, which is how most people will use it as the main list is too long to be usable all the time. Fortunately, there is the ability to add custom images as only the WSDOT ones are included, and not the SDOT ones (such as for the Montlake area which can often get backed up when the bridge is up or during rush hour). There are a number of shortcomings that should be addressed. The app always comes up with the main list selected. This is not a good default setting once you have your favorites selected. Either remember the last used setting or allow user to specify default when app is opened. There are no Traffic Flow maps included at all. Fortunately, you can do this yourself with custom editing, but it would be nice to have these included and as a special button on bottom. Also, it would be nice to have a flow map with locations of the traffic cams displayed and selectable. When adding a custom traffic cam, you need to manually enter in the URL. Often these URLs can be quite long. If you are adding several, they often use the same domain so that work can become tedious and redundant. This app really needs to have a Clone button where you can clone (copy) an existing traffic cam URL and then make a minor change for the new one. When adding custom traffic cams, for some reason the images do now display to take up the entire iPhone screen like the preset ones do. The app should do this automatically or have some settings to specify image attributes so that one doesn't always need to pinch out fingers to zoom in for a custom image every time. This one can be annoying after a while. Lastly, it would be nice to allow for editing of a traffic cam detail from the main list when you select Edit. Currently, this just allow for Deleting a cam. You first need to select a cam and go to its image to be able to Edit its detail such as URL Overall, I think this is a nice v1.0 app and looking forward to some great future improvements.
