Great app!!

Mark108

I've seen these for other places and was wondering why not one for Seattle yet. Well here it is. Works like a charm. I like all the preloads and the ability to have a favorites list.

Good and bad

Some pictures are cool but the program is not worth buying!

Nice start but some rough edges

Captain Latte

It was nice to finally see an iPhone app with some Seattle traffic detail. MultiCam is a fairly simple app which essentially takes traffic cam images from publicly available web sites and organizes them nicely by route. All the main Seattle routes are included such as I90, I5, I405, SR520, etc. You can select a Traffic Cam and make it a Favorite, which is how most people will use it as the main list is too long to be usable all the time. Fortunately, there is the ability to add custom images as only the WSDOT ones are included, and not the SDOT ones (such as for the Montlake area which can often get backed up when the bridge is up or during rush hour). There are a number of shortcomings that should be addressed. The app always comes up with the main list selected. This is not a good default setting once you have your favorites selected. Either remember the last used setting or allow user to specify default when app is opened. There are no Traffic Flow maps included at all. Fortunately, you can do this yourself with custom editing, but it would be nice to have these included and as a special button on bottom. Also, it would be nice to have a flow map with locations of the traffic cams displayed and selectable. When adding a custom traffic cam, you need to manually enter in the URL. Often these URLs can be quite long. If you are adding several, they often use the same domain so that work can become tedious and redundant. This app really needs to have a Clone button where you can clone (copy) an existing traffic cam URL and then make a minor change for the new one. When adding custom traffic cams, for some reason the images do now display to take up the entire iPhone screen like the preset ones do. The app should do this automatically or have some settings to specify image attributes so that one doesn't always need to pinch out fingers to zoom in for a custom image every time. This one can be annoying after a while. Lastly, it would be nice to allow for editing of a traffic cam detail from the main list when you select Edit. Currently, this just allow for Deleting a cam. You first need to select a cam and go to its image to be able to Edit its detail such as URL Overall, I think this is a nice v1.0 app and looking forward to some great future improvements.

Great

Please add ferry cams.

Seattle Web Cams

Works great to check the road conditions and weather during the winter. How about one for Eastern Washington State? I-90 corridor to Spokane and the Idaho border.

Outstanding!

ArcticTE

Fantastic (and helpful) application for dealing with Seattle's traffic. Pics are quick to load, too! 'Would really like to see SR 16 camera's added to the list!

What the heck!

Your update said to delete program prior to downloading new version, so I did. Now I have to pay another .99????? And no I have not had a chance to sync my phone yet!

Latest release is VERY buggy

Overall, the app is a good idea. However, the latest version has a lot of problems. Some of the ones I'm experiencing are: - The "favorites" list gets cleared when the app is downloaded and updated. - When you reorder the "favorites" list, it also reorders the "all" list. - Categorization is flaky (cams can be moved between location categories, and that should not be possible - especially in the "all" list) - Not clear how to change/remove the categorization in the "favorites" list - Touching the blue category icon in the "favorites" list crashes the app. If you haven't updated yet, I recommend waiting for the fixes. The previous version was more stable.

Quick access to traffic cams

This is a basic aggregator of images available on the WSDOT traffic site. These images are freely available but not exactly easily accessible via iPhone and/or while in the car so this does provide a useful interface for getting the images quickly. It's not exactly pretty but it works. It presents a sequential list of images and apparently you can modify that list to some extent. You can designate certain cams as favorites (and view by favorites) and you can add (or delete?) entries in the master list. I have not tried the customization options. So it's a useful app for accessing traffic pics that would otherwise be difficult to get. If you are a heavy commuter this is probably worth the $1 admission price, and even if you're not, $1 is a reasonable price for what this offers. One last note: This app will work so long as the WSDOT exposes the JPGs in a predictable manner. If they ever change their method it might break the app requiring reworking by the author. Unlikely to happen any time soon but you never know with government web sites.

Fix all your cameras !

So many cameras not working. Lame! I pay city taxes. Use this money on it. FTW. Some pictures 3 or more days old. No refresh?
