Good but with bugs – Rogue Saga Review

Good gameplay mechanics making for a fun rogue-like. Graphics and sound are nicely neo-retro, though I'm personally tired of the Minecraft blocky style. Unfortunately there are some bugs, some minor but one show stopper. The minor ones include being able to see the sides of blocks inside the wall. This is very confusing at first because it makes it look like there are hallways everywhere. If you zoom out, they're not as visible though. Another issue is that arrows are pretty sparse, and in fact I've gotten to the point where I ran out and then never got any more. The scarcity isn't quite so bad because it means having to strategize a bit. But running out and not getting any more is a problem. However, the biggest issue is that on the fifth level of the dungeon, there's a door you can't open until you've killed the boss. Only, killing the boss still doesn't unlock the door. And you need to open the door to progress. Twice now (out of two tries) I've gotten stuck on that level. I don't know how you could miss that bug when testing before releasing the update/game. Or maybe the devs aren't testing much. That would be bad. If these issues were fixed, this would be at least a four star game.
