The Good, the Bad (but no ugly). – Wars and Battles - Strategy & History Review

Review is based on the first two basic modules only. The game looks and plays great. The units and maps are beautiful, and the developers are very devoted, and nice helpful folks as well. I love the selection of battles, and look forward to each new release. So what`s my problem? I would say it`s the tiny battlefields, and how the combat works. The historic write-ups, and pictures of the units are in wonderful, and really get you in the mood for the battle. The fighting though really negates any differences in the battles or units, it`s just combat factors. Basically you just create big stacks and butt them up against your opponent. There is no maneuvering, breakthroughs, or cutting supply, it`s operational battles on tactical sized maps. Maybe the older battles will open things up. I would suggest; enlarging the maps, making the units smaller, or enforce stacking limits to open things up. If someone who has purchased the additional content says things are different, I would like to see your review, thanks.
