Glorified Pong, which isn't a bad thing – Salamanda Ball Review

This game is basically single-played Pong played in a dreamscape against a living nightmare. While players will inevitably get weird looks from others who catch them playing, the psychedelic atmosphere actually does a good job at keeping players zoned in. The art is detailed and well made, the music is unique and enhances the atmosphere, and the gameplay flows smoothly. Because the ball speeds up each time it's hit, gameplay becomes entertaining and challenging; however, the luck-based mechanic of outsmarting the opponent can be frustrating, though it keeps the experience from becoming too mundane. Ultimately, the game falls short in gameplay itself- the game is lacking features outside of its mostly unoriginal gameplay. The ability to unlock different avatars, opponents, and settings would go a long way to increasing the value of the game. Ultimately, since it's a free game that's also ad-free, the game is a worthy consideration for those who want to enjoy an artistic variation of Pong.
