Really lovely, but needs tweaking – Super Glyph Quest Review

I have to concur with other reviewers who have said that the game needs balancing. There are far too many moments where I am unable to progress, too many play sessions ending because I'm stuck and having the opposite of fun. The gameplay in those moments are frustrating because monsters keep calling new monsters in what feels like an endless, unwinable battle. I run out of healing potions quickly; they are too expensive to replace without a lot more gameplay on way-too-easy levels. I would at least like to see some kind of monster counter during a match to let me know how many foes I am up against, so that, if I see that it's hopeless, I don't waste potions. That said, I love the aesthetic of the game, and the gameplay itself has great potential. Discovering new spells and new monsters is a great feature, and the dialogue is charming. I'm sorry that I can't give it more stars right now, but the frustrations inherent in the game's imbalance keep me on the verge of deleting.
