Don’t learn math… Understand it! – Understanding Math - Addition and Subtraction Review

This is a gem of an app. Education is rife with rote memorization, and that’s a poor substitute for actual understanding. This app is the antidote! It conveys a deep understanding of numbers by virtue of a couple of different UI mechanisms, but the point is that after using this app, kids will “feel” what it’s like to add (or subtract) two numbers. For my part, I’d prefer this kind of learning every single time. If you have a little one learning math, it seems to me you can’t go wrong with this app. After all, they deserve to start off on the right foot with this (and any) educational endeavor.
