Quagmire of a Two-dimensional Game – Vietnam...'65 Review

If the designer wanted to show how frustrating the Vietnam war was, he failed. Instead he has ended up with a frustrating game. The game is based on a random hidden enemy. The logistics end up being a boring task for the player. Too overbearing. Hearts and minds play a huge part in the game's mythology but little to do with what is going on the map. You occupy a town and it turns into a Viet Cong supporter. Why? Too lame in my opinion. The player cannot create a winning strategy. If that is what the designer imported he has failed as a game designer, but not as a historian.
