Good, but could be great with a few small changes – Tap & Say - Travel Phrasebook Review

Very handy app for learning key phrases when traveling. The phrases are well organized and the pronunciations are clearly spoken. But there are a couple small problems that really limit the usefulness of the app. First of all, you can't turn off the sound for the pronunciations. So, if you're out and about and you want to check how to say a phrase or just want to study a bit, when you choose the phrase in the app, it will immediately play the pronunciation out loud. If you want to just read the translations without sound, you can't (unless you remember to turn the ringer sound all the way down on your phone). Imagine being in a restaurant and you want to check how to say, "Where is the bathroom?" And your phone shouts out the phrase immediately. Awkward. Another issue is that you can't choose a favorite or default language that you're trying to learn. Say if you're traveling in Vietnam and you just want to keep referring to the Vietnamese phrases. Every time you open the app, you have to scroll past all the other languages down to Vietnamese and select it before you get to what you need. Again, this isn't terrible, but these two issues make the app a lot less useful than it could be. It's moderately useful for studying but not good for on-the-go reference, which is what I really want on my phone. Fix these two issues and it's worth five stars.
