Strategy game where chance and choices matter – Fortress Conquest Review

I like games like Age of Empires. In that Classic RPG, you have strategy and skill that determine your outcome. Fortress Conquest is designed in a similar vein for iPhones and similar portable electronic devices. It's a pocket strategy conquest game that you can take anywhere. Like AOE, you can solo against the bot or go against multiple players, such has friends. In either scenario, your sole objective is to be the last man / country standing. You must capture all of your enemies’ fortresses using your army and army maneuvers. Your wit will make you outlast and outlive! What makes this game challenging is that there are so many options to choose from. You must choose what army you'd like to be: 1 out of 6. You must choose the placement of your fortresses (e.g. Random or not). You can even make things more difficult for yourself by having your land occupied when you start! You must choose the enhancement cards you will use on your army. Pick what type of attack you will plan and where you will position your armies for greatest advantage. In multi nationality games, you can even form truces with specific allies. You know the saying: the enemy of my enemy is my friend. The game though does require some learning initially. Thankfully, there is a small tutorial in the beginning when you start. I would follow that and try the solo play verses a computer before you compete in earnest against friends. Many options are activated by touch. Finally, I have found a strategy game I can play on the road! I am happy.
