Good start, tourists may over purchase passes – TfE M-Tickets Review

App worked fairly well and was easy to use once we understood the overall activation process. Downsides to the process include the "activate pass just before boarding the tram" process and the £10 minimum purchase. There are square optical codes posted on the tram platforms that must be scanned with the camera to activate the team passes for the airport fare. You can't activate the pass once you get on the tram. I didn't understand that initially and the ticket agent had me run off the tram at the next stop to scan that code so the ticket would activate. When boarding a tram for the airport return, there were a few anxious moments while the tram was coming and the app hung and exited without activating the pass. The ticket agents should have a general code they carry or a booklet of codes so the proper one can be scanned on board if necessary. The £10 transaction minimum led us to buying more day passes than we actually used with no way to refund or at least pass the m-ticket to someone else to use. Not bad, but could use improvement in code stability and overall process of ticketing validation.
