How do I light the cannon? – Haunted House Mysteries - A Hidden Object Adventure Review

I was enjoying the game until I got stuck at the cannon. Nothing I've tried has made any difference. I even click the hint and it just says to use the cannon to get out. Well I figured that out and even found the cannon ball by just clicking around the scene. Are the matches wet or something?
