This app doesn't look good on my iPad. The letters are huge and the graphics are lacking.
Movie function one of the most important features does not work. Which means app cannot show the penmanship in action. Is a shame as this is a more expensive apps in Comp to other similar apps yet it does not deliver 100%.
The video instruction in this app does not work. When you touch the camera to show how to make the letters the app closes
Even though previous reviews mentioned that the movies didn't work, I bought this for the interactive tracing and independent practice. I was very pleased upon download to find that the movies DO work. If your child is using Zaner-Bloser cursive at school and you want a portable way to practice, this app is for you.
Upper case, Lower case and numbers available. App allows you to choose which letter to practice. You can use your finger or an iPad compatible stylus. I tried the iMarker and it just doesn't seem to read it well no matter how slowly and diligently the letter is written - but risked it and bought a stylus and it's perfect. I would've changed the 4 star rating to a 5 star rating (after realizing that the stylus DOES work with the app), except that once she got a chance to practice some letters, my daughter wanted to practice full words and that isn't (currently) an option. The videos seem to work just fine although I'm sure we won't use them - just not 'our thing'.
So many wonderful apps i've purchased for 99cents. This app is really a rip off. Yes it's a good app, but certainly not worth the extra cost. Plus it doesn't advance by itself, you have to tell it to go the next letter. Just not worth it. Sorry folks.
I'm using Zaner-Bloser at school the cursive handwriting book and we're only on cursive capital "E" and this is a great way to skip ahead and learn the letters if you're us the Zaner-Bloser cursive handwriting booklet at school
This app does not show the introductory tail that is part of letters such as a and c to connect them to previous letters. While this app does give feedback on tracing the letters it is not accurate. I was able to trace loops such as that found in h and p in the wrong direction not even connecting them and this was accepted as correct.
