HUGE Fan of Yelp...
Ol' Mac II Dude
...for well over 7 years (as of 2016), and I use them first when I'm either in a new town, or looking into a place I haven't eaten in before. Yet I've recently seen the name "Yelp" isn't just for food! But their other areas don't seem to be used much, but that may be due to where I live (small city in the NC Foothills). Don't know why they've got a so-so review rating, I don't know if a better, mainly food app, that comes even close to Yelp!

This app doesn't work well for me. Clunky interface, search just seems to leave things out. The regular site is way better. And while I do use Yelp sometimes, I have noticed some shady goings on, where reviews are removed or hidden for mysterious reasons. And if you want to contact Yelp? Sorry, no can do. Only review their "support" area. I find that outrageous. If you search generally for a review with your phone, and end up on the yelp site, it will offer to "open in the Yelp app". However, if you choose that option it will just open the app -- but not to the company you are searching for. You have to re-search. Brilliant. It's a bad company, unfortunately.

Very disappointed with Yelp and the manner in which it chooses reviews. More often than not reviews are misleading. I've posted honest and positive reviews only to have them put in the "not recommended" section. I've been to Michelin rated restaurants and Yelp will post only the negative reviews. This app was created just to destroy businesses.

This little app rocks! With just a few clicks of a button I can find a great restaurant, salon, dress shop etc. So easy and convenient. I've become a regular yelper too, since it's helped me out a lot.

You get honest reviews from people who want to talk about their experiences. Just wish it could be expanded into other countries like Honduras and Belize.

One thing bothers me: Can you please update the app to not show restaurants that are closed. Why should my view be full of restaurants that are closed on a particular day or certain time of day. They shouldn't even show up or the user should have an option to click to only show places that are currently open. What a waste of time looking through options that aren't even an option because they're closed.

Love the app, I like that the iphone map reviews are integrated with yelp reviews.
Not easy (or not possible) to sort reviews by date?!?

Just want to be able to view recent review trends, and not have to dig through layers and layers of roadblocks to do so. Nothing erodes the integrity of a review app, like reviews that are presented in a manipulated manner...
