X-Mapper Pro (for X-Plane Desktop)

“X-Mapper Pro” is a helper application for X-Plane flight simulator. Connecting to a computer running X-Plane makes your iPhone/iPad work as a useful flight-assistance device including map tracker, flight yoke and full-equipped avionics panel.
Category Price Seller Device
Games $2.99 Asahi Technoservice, Inc. iPhone, iPad, iPod

*This application requires full or demo version of X-Plane 9 or 10 for computer (Mac/Windows/Linux). CANNOT used with X-Plane for iPhone/iPad.

*Sorry, X-Plane 11 is NOT fully supported: The avionics feature is incompatible with X-Plane 11. But the mapping and the flight control feature still work well with the X-Plane 11 by proper settings. See the App Support page for more detail.

*The latest version requires iOS 6 or later. For devices with iOS 4 or iOS 5, App Store will provide older version 1.1.3.

*“X-Mapper Lite,” the free reduced edition, is also available. Please try it if you only need the map tracker feature without flight path.

MAP TRACKER

The location and heading of the simulated aircraft will be displayed in the map with an orange icon when settings completed and network connection established. As “Pro” edition bonus feature, the flight path is also drawn on the map as orange lines. Other map tracker features are as ones with “X-Mapper Lite.”

FLIGHT YOKE

Touching and holding on the white slider activates motion sensor that allows you to control your aircraft like as 3-axis joystick. It has following features:

–Controlling the aileron and the elevator by the tilt of your device
–Controlling the rudder by the slider for taxiing and crosswind takeoff/landing
–Releasing the slider disables the motion sensor and maintains trim-neutral
–Auto-calibrated elevator allows you comfortable tilt-operation

The motion sensor is enabled only while touched on, so you may let your device down anytime without unexpected consequence. It is convenient for auxiliary control in IFR flight.

THROTTLE CONTROLLER

With the black slider, you can control the throttle as well as watch the auto-throttle feedback. This smart controller allows you fine tuning of jet engines without expensive dedicated devices. Also, there is a handy reverser button for smooth operation at landing and rejecting takeoff.

AVIONICS PANEL

The full-equipped avionics panel allows you to operate various radio and autopilot equipment. It is useful especially for IFR operations that was bothering the pilot in busy. Also, you can setup the autobrake even if omitted in some cockpit panels.

MULTI-DEVICE CONNECTION

You can connect up to four iPhone/iPad devices running multiple X-Mappers at the same time. Download and install X-Mapper Pro for each device. No additional payment will occur to download for devices belongs to the same App Store account.

GETTING X-PLANE

Mac/Windows/Linux version of X-Plane 9 (9.69 or later) or 10 is required to use this application: It can’t be used for iPhone/iPad version of X-Plane. Open “Obtain X-Plane” from the ⓘInfo Menu for ordering the full version or downloading the free Demo version.

Please refer to help message in the application for detailed instructions.

Not reliable

The sliders disappeared. Was working for a while then no sliders. Tried reinstalling app -- didn't work.

Very Handy
Rod T.

I've only used this app to track my flight, not to use it as a controller. It works great thus far. No plug-in is needed therefore it should work on Mac, Windows and Linux. (I use it on OS X). I have two enhancement suggestions. One, let it work in landscape mode as well as portrait (for flight tracking) and two, have a option to turn on a "trail line" that shows the path your aircraft has travelled. After reading the descriptions of a number of the other X-Plane flight tracking apps I am satisfied with this one. Again, no plug is needed. It uses the already built into iPhone/iPad control feature.

great app
Movie Killer

this app is simple but great. i hope in the future it can show the path that the plane flies by

Great app
Bill9603

Easy to set up and use, a nice interface. The bonus is controlling your plane when you are without a joystick. I recommend this app to anyone who would like to track their flight, or even control it.

Help
dsngr

Please Help! I purchased this app accidentally. I assumed it was for use with the iPad x-plane version ( which I have) but it turns out it can only be used with the PC version which I do not have. Can I please please get a refund ( or be given instructions as to how I can get my money back!? Thanks :) PS: I love the iPad app though!

Nifty app
Pincomark

Does exactly what they say. I really like it.

Good, but...
Jum008

All the features work well, but path showing. I tried this app on iPhone 4 (5.0.1) and iPad 3 (6.0 and then 6.0.1) and it still doesn't work. Maybe, is there the solution?

Excellent App
alzyg

Truly nice! I tried the free app first and it worked so well I bought the Pro right away. Everything works well including the path. The only comment I'd like to make is when you use the satellite map its hard to see the plane, perhaps a change of color in the prefs would do it. I've looking for something like that for years, thanks for bringing this out and for a excellent price!

A waste of money, buggy at best.

Intermittent functioning of this app was exasperating. Never really got it to work properly. Disappearing maps and broken connections made this app way to good to be true. Dumped it for the amazing FSWidget iGMapHD which, though expensive, blows X-Mapper out of the water…er…sky.

Excellent addition to X-Plane
Jackoat

Love this addition to X-Plane, particularly for the setting of the avionics... autopilot, tuning radio frequencies, etc. The tracking on the map is adequate for simple orientation. I use this app in conjunction with Foreflight. This app really helps make up for the shortcomings in the current aircraft (pay ware and freeware) available for X-Plane and how annoying it can be to tune radios with the thoroughly ridiculous stock Garmin 430 and operate the auto pilot. Well done.
