Orange screen - What happened?

I played this game daily and then 2 weeks ago an update happened. Now there is no ability to play because it is just sits at a blank orange screen. Really disappointing to see multiple other reviews about this same issue and no fix has been done.

Work-around to May 5 2020 update causing game freeze on blank orange screen

UPDATE: Work around to recent freeze discovered! Yet still no actual update to remedy the issue, 3 weeks later... Disable cellular data and Wi-Fi. The freeze is related to some kind of data transfer that apparently occurs at the beginning of the free daily spin. If there is no data connection available, the game displays an error message about purchases not being available, but continues to the spinner, instead of freezing on the orange-yellow screen. Game play then continues normally, but no option to receive a second free spin is offered when this happens without a data connection. Prior review: I play the game daily, but the May 5 game update on iOS 13.4.1 (iPhone SE 2020) now freezes on the opening orange-yellow screen and never continues to the Daily free spin. I tried removing & reinstalling the game from the General, iPhone Storage screen, in order to retain my earned game level and hints without erasing that data, but subsequently reloading the game causes the same freeze result. Since the early May update, some ads entirely ignore the sound setting for the game (sounds OFF in the settings screen) AND for the phone (silent mode switch down) and all notifications turned off until 8 am. Unpleasant surprise when a game played silently concludes and a stupid ad plays at FULL VOLUME. Touching the speaker to mute the sudden noise takes at least a full second of holding the speaker icon before the noise stops. Next time that happens, this game will be permanently UNINSTALLED.

This game is great! If you are complaining Bantu the ads, they are appearing because it is a free game. Free games need a way to make money, as well as adding in-app purchases. You can buy something in this game and the pack will get rid of ads. It is only 2 or 3 dollars. STOP WHINING and if you still complain, then delete the game or buy the pack, it isn’t that hard. This game is great! Keep up the good work!

The game accomplishes what it sets out to do but the categories need to be more specific. For instance the puzzle of the day for the day I’m writing this is “things you can change” and I see several words in the puzzle that fit this category but it won’t accept them.

Game is basically a good distraction. Just learned to ignore all of the ads even though many of them are 30 seconds. Unfortunately after about a year and after I made it into the top 98th percentile, it started crashing. Game locks up and won’t start. Phone resets don’t work. I wrote to the company a few weeks ago. Received no response. It became a dead app so I deleted it. Too bad. Fun while it lasted.
