If you have this version. Be careful merging it with version 2, I had an issue, that can’t seem to be fixed. I went to the new version from 1, and lost over 3,000 in coins. Every option they gave me to try DID’NT WORK. Not so happy!!!

Over the last several weeks I have been bombarded with men (I use the term loosely) Who initially have two first names and no picture that ask you to start a game. They then start asking you multiple personal questions including where do you live are you married how many children do you have how did you sleep last night etc. these people have very broken English and it makes me think that they are scammers from Africa. These people are quite annoying often starting a conversation with hey beautiful nice profile how was your night sleep. Next they always want you to go to a chat site called hang out. I found that the best way to get rid of these people was told him right off the bat you’re married or decline the request for a new game. Often if I tell them I married they resign the game almost immediately. It seems that people out there an hour trying to use this game as a dating site. I think there needs to be some oversight by the company that runs words with friends because it’s getting quite irritating!
In-game "cheats" and ads ruin the game

Zynga, in its greed, has ruined a great word game. There is no option now to buy an Ad Free version of Words With Friends. And their "power ups" are just developer sanctioned cheats where users can purchase clues where to play words or swap out tiles without losing a turn. All this without your opponent knowing. Zynga has completely undermined the integrity of this popular Scrabble clone. They do not understand their core base.

I had to stop playing this game out of frustration! I get nudges from opponents for games that have frozen up and I can’t play. The game keeps suggesting a huge list of people from my facebook who don’t want to play but I can’t get the list to go away. My opponents who have not played in 1800 hours still clutter my scoreboard. I have to wait for games to go away. Please fix this!!!
Terrible bug issues

I love the game but it constantly goes to a blank screen with a ‘no connection ‘ banner. Reboot of phone doesn’t always fix either. Very frustrating.
Allowing cheating now??

Why are you allowing cheating now...? Stupid enough in Scramble but now here, too? I understand that if it’s in the “rules” it’s not cheating but it’s pretty lame. I’m clever enough and I give my opponents enough credit to strategically make the decision if they want to lose a turn and swap tiles. Why are you dumbing it down? Might as well play one of those stupid word games with the duckies and penguins.

Unfortunately I’m going to have to give it a one star review because of the constant notifications to upgrade to “Words with Friends 2” which you can’t close and forces you to the App Store. It does this every time and is extremely annoying.
Please stop asking me to upgrade

I enjoy playing classic words with friends. I don’t like the new version at all, so getting constantly reminded of the “upgrade” is annoying. Please stop asking and forcing a switch to the App Store to install the new version.

Intermittantly I have a problem with the Upgrade box popping up and not responding to pushing the button and it won’t go away. I usually have to restart my iPad a time or two to get rid of it. Very annoying.
