Unusable

Johnny_1979

None of the functionality works, I don't know why they released this. Given the level of brokenness, this app should be in a private alpha.

Works but very shitily

The good thing about this app is it lets you use Mathematica on your iPad if you have a cloud subscription. It doesn't work well though. Every once in a while the screen goes blank and you need to refresh starting at the top of the notebook and scroll all the way down. This wouldn't be so much a problem if scrolling weren't choppy and very slow. Often you cannot even scroll to the bottom before you have to refresh and start scrolling all over again. There are numerous other bugs like you cannot edit fractions unless its expressed using a solidus. This app could be great but as is, is nearly unusable.

There are four problems with this app

1. I wish I could copy commands from the documentation pages, but I can only copy an image. I have to then to retype that command to get it to work. 2. I wish I could download a demonstration and run it. 3. When I enter a series of commands using the virtual keyboard, the keyboard covers up the the command, so I have to hide the keyboard frequently to be able to see what I have entered. 4. I cannot locate any directions on how to use the app and I have had to experiment a great deal to make it useful. I pay $20 a month to be able to use this app, but I which it was more user friendly. Surely somewhere there is a user manual for this app.

Needs work

It's very frustrating that the virtual keyboard covers up the input area after just a few lines of code. Why can't the app slide the document up with the keyboard so that the input stays visible?

Still mostly useless.

Even after a couple of updates my review is essentially the same. I think this is an embarrassment to Wolfram. I have tried Mathematica Online on a browser on my MacBook Pro and found the experience satisfying and certainly usable. Unfortunately, the browser based app does not work on my iPad Pro. Not in Safari, not in Chrome, not in Firefox, not in Opera, nada. I fail to understand why Wolfram cannot fix this, I can only conclude that they don't care about Mathematica, sorry Wolfram Language, users on iPads. It's a shame. This is a lousy way to get new users. Wolfram has announced they are out of beta now, maybe they have moved back to gamma or delta. I was very excited to get access to Wolfram Language (Mathematica) on my iPad. I also signed up for Mathematical Online. Unfortunately, I can see no way to use the cloud app with Mathematica Online, moreover using it for Wolfram Development platform is frustrating. It does not work at all with the new iPad Pro keyboard cover. When using the virtual keyboard cells must be touched several times with the finger before anything can be interred. Also, there is an unreasonable latency in response to keyboard input. I think WL is one of the most useful tools I have on my laptop and I would like, I need access on my iPad.

keyboard doesn't work

I so badly want to make using this app on my Ipad Pro as a go to tool but the arrow keys for keyboards don't work making it near impossibly frustrating to try and edit anything with the keyboard. Tapping every time to make an edit and after a few times you just give up and stop using the app. Browser app doesn't work either.

Great app

Dflinnbobama

Really good for running mathematica on your phone. I can't describe how much I plan to use this.

Excited to use this

MBar85

Seems like a really powerful and useful app.

Useful and streamlined
