App Still Buggy

Noticed you guys responded to a message back in December (it’s February 20th now) about the app being buggy. It’s still extremely buggy, messages are often delayed, never send, or it’s hard to type without everything freezing or delaying momentarily. The app used to be seemingly smooth, and it is still overall enjoyable, despite the constant bugs. Hopefully this will be fixed soon because I do not want to turn to anything else quite yet. Thanks!

Close to being great but needs a few things

I’m in the process of evaluating this app and considering leaving my current app. I like Wire a lot but there are a few things that keep me from full adoption. Here is my list: The two most important things: 1) I need a visual cue showing me what I’ve listened to vs unheard. Hard to believe it doesn’t have that yet. Every major messaging app has that. 2) there are TOO MANY icons in the taskbar. There is a general principle in mobile ux that says you never have more than 5 icons in the taskbar (just look at other popular apps). This one has seven which makes the icons way too small. I’ve heard 3 people I’ve shown it to all say that without my prompting. I don’t use most of them so move them to the second level or let me configure Other things that would make this even better: 1) autoplay next message. If I have three messages and click the first, play the second and third ones automatically as each finishes. Voxer does that and it’s awesome. 2) support including for Apple Watch including audio that’s most of my feedback. Do the above and you’ll absolutely dominate. I’d be happy to pay $2-3 a month for this if it had the above.

Excellent for group chats. Far better than any other product we have tried. Echo the positive comments about the functionality. Am having some issues with volume in videos taken with iPhones and then posted (video but no sound). I have not seen this comment so am hopeful its temporary (or user caused). Anyone else experiencing this?

Slow to refresh and video calls are weak

I’ve used this app for about a month now and at first it was fast, but now it’s super slow with all the messages that I don’t want to delete. Groupme works better in this aspect. At first this app was amazing! I also wish that the text tones wouldn’t be as INTENSE when you have the chat already open. A subtle one would do just fine if I could have a loud one in the app. And there’s no way to turn off tones or have a softer one when you’re in the chat. You can only have ONE for notifications when not in the app or chat and when you’re on a chat. Finally, video connection even on LTE stinks hard core even with good signal. I have been super frustrated with this.

Better privacy and features than others

Wire has better privacy than virtually any other messaging app. EVERYTHING is end to end encrypted. Providing access to your contacts info is optional because usernames are used. You can register with an email address on their website or with your phone number in the app. Wire has virtually every feature a messaging app can have including texting, calling, video calls, group chat, voice messaging, expiring messages, attachments, GIFs, and more. The interface is nice and clean with no ads whatsoever. I still haven’t found another messaging app with the same combination of privacy and features. This one is a keeper.

Nice app but there is some problems 1- it's very hard to catch the call from first time 2- when you have a call you will not hear any notifications from any other apps 3- also you will not hear any phone calls while you use this app

Brilliant app secures messages audio, video calls and clips in one

Wire works ingeniously on desktops, laptops, pad, and phones to provide secure communications so transparently anyone can use it and regain some privacy in just a few moments of setup. It always fires right up and connects me effortlessly. It encrypts whatever you send--messages, pics, audio and video clips but also calls. Audio clips are fun and you can intentionally garble them with different filters that disguise your real voice. The only thing I can't understand is why people won't clue in and finally free themselves from the clutches of the various eavesdropping dragnet wiretaps. If you don't think all this content won't end up warehoused and drilled for decades, you must live in a fantasy world. By the time they figure out that this information will be used to determine the outcome of business decisions like who gets which job or which loan; security clearances etc, it will be too late. Please clue in right now. The history of surveillance is one of extreme abuse. If you aren't using Wire along with VPNs and encrypted mail, you are just marking time waiting to be fleeced. Functioning democracy requires a measure of privacy. Get and use Wire now and reclaim yours!
