Subscriptions by deception. Placement of continue without subscribing way out of line of sight

Allen Lieberman

App itself is pretty much replicated by other apps that display wind grids such as Windy (red colored icon) or Ventusky so you may want to avoid this app to not accidentally get deceived into subscribing into a trial period of which turns into a paid subscription after a short period of time. Presentation of data is nice and app can be customized to purpose you want (water or air sports for starters) This app gets lots of accidental subscription complaints because the continue (or next button) is far away from the center of the screen when presented with subscribe choices. The actual button bypass committing to any subscription is black text on blue background in upper right corner. Very hard to see by design unless you have superior color differentiation vision. It is by design meant to not be seen. To re-iterate, if you don’t want to subscribe to any subscriptions, be sure to look for the option in upper right corner of screen when presented with free trial subscription options or you will be inadvertently subscribing to some very expensive subscriptions!

Map is hidden

xyzzy45

In new version i can not see the map anymore. It is hidden by the precipitation overlay so you cannot see where you are.

Deceptive money grab

???

Just take a look at the most recent ratings friends. i downloaded this app MONTHS ago and decided not to use it because of the cost for a “premium” experience. instead i went with magic seaweed as my primary environmental app. I was taking a nap today and woke to find that i was charged 15 bucks for an auto renewal service i never asked for. Get outta here with that shady business!!

I don’t want to pay!

Jackie and Matt

Your prompts made me say yes to charge me in 7 days. I don’t want to be charged. I couldn’t find where to cancel. How can I cancel?

Horribly Innacurate

robdog1235

I’ve used windfinder, SailFlow, PredictWind, and the other Windy app, and this has to be the most inaccurate of all of them. Numerous times SailFlow, predictwind, windfinder and the other windy app have been in agreement with light wind (5-10 knots), and then this thing says something totally different (25-30 knots). I’m about ready to delete it, you guys need to get your act together and start working on getting your forecasts nailed down better.

Annoying Notifications

Aaasdddddaaaa

The developer uses the notifications to advertise new features and updates. These are much more common than actual weather related notifications, so they’re useless. Otherwise, a terrific app.

Jejuisland Packrafting

climber120880

Thank you, Windy. I use Windy to figure out which days are safe to Packraft paddle along the shorelines and to the islands surrounding Jejuisland Island in the Yellow Sea or South Korea. Without Windys info, I might find myself in unsafe paddling situations. I really appreciate the outdoor adventure this app helps me to enjoy. Paddle on! Scott
