Not the greatest

Greenie mama 65

I bought unlimited pro version for one year. It constantly creates a problem connecting to the internet and I have to turn it off and back on at least 6 times a day. Sometimes I have to totally reboot my phone. I will not be renewing at the end of my year. And I agree, tech support has been rude. It depends on who you get.

Absolutely amazing

Funny developer, relatable jokes popping up in different places, cool challenges, very useful especially for streaming, one thing though, I’m rather confused on something, I randomly got a screen on the app telling me to shake for an upgraded plan and wondered how it happened, that’s all though, overall great free VPN

Needs Work

HollyDay

Worked very well on the free plan, so after a week, I subscribed for a year. No matter what server I connect to now on my phone, everything stops streaming and I have to keep turning the VPN on/off repeatedly, and restart streaming apps. It has a lot of features, but what's the point when the main one (connection) is so problematic?

ONE OF THE BEST VPNs OUT THERE

To be honest I wasn't sure about paying for a VPN, I always saw them as scams, but this one completely changed my mind. Worth the price!

Awesome vpn

Really fast speeds with no logging.

Best Free Vpn

The only reason I’m giving this 4 stars is because the shows in the other region wouldn’t show up on my ipad. But, when I got the vpn on google chrome on my laptop it worked and I could watch Pretty Little Liars in Germany. But, the region issue could’ve just been my ipad. I love this vpn because its free and is amazing for netflix.

An excellent VPN

I spent the last 15 years of my career in cyber security for Fortune 25 company. It's nice to see a free VPN that actually offers a decent amount of bandwidth and reasonable performance. I was impressed enough to buy a one-year package and have not been disappointed so far. I am able to get nearly 100% of my rated speed with the VPN on and the best location selected. I'm quite impressed that it has so many supported platforms. I have a Amazon fire stick 4K and Windscribe works great on there as well, they even include various "windflix"VPN sites if you want to try a Netflix catalog from another country. I had no problem getting additional Netflix country catalogs to work on my fire stick or on my ipad or my Windows 10 laptop. The built-in firewall Does it's job and is non-intrusive. They even offer a DNS level ad And malware blocker. I did not thoroughly test those, though I can say that the ad blocker was effective. I just prefer to control it on the client. I did use their customer support and found it to be very responsive and helpful. I sent a email request and received a response back in about 15 minutes asking for more information. The engineer figured out the problem and provided me a solution. And if you really want to be anonymous, you can buy a subscription with bitcoin. When I factor in the competitive price, the capabilities and the performance, I can see why this product has such good ratings. I bet most of those are free users. But for a very small investment, you can get non-intrusive unlimited protection if you buy one of their subscriptions. I've used a ton of VPNs and so far, when I factor in all the features, performance and pricing, windscribe comes out on top for me. I told them I would like see detailed manuals for those who want that. But it's pretty clear that Windscribe is trying to keep things as simple as possible. I think they've done a good job of that while providing a very effective VPN solution.

Good

Love the app, been using for about a year. Hate the new logo the happened like yesterday or something. But the app is good. I made this review just to call out the terrible new logo. It’s really bad.

Really excellent service

I have had Windscribe on my iPhone, iPad and PC (s) and it is excellent. I managed to get a lifetime subscription after trialing the free 10gb per month option, well worth the upgrade IMHO. I don’t use this all the time on my iPhone and iPad but I do use it all the time on my PC as I feel a little more venerable on it. I always use it when travelling and access unknown WiFi providers or if I need to appear to be in a different country, one button click and a few seconds latter it is fully activated. There are some features like static IP etc which I don’t use, they are always improving the service they offer (I suppose it is a competitive market). Windscribe is based in Canada, do not require credit card details etc. I have fast broadband but have used it where the speed is much slower, I see only a small difference in connection speeds, which has never affected the performance of my tasks. Very pleased at a great service, but only 4 stars as there is nothing that is perfect in this world..... yet!

Great service, auto secure in app can use some work

Serennial

Windscibe’s service is always stellar. However current version on the app needs work for auto secure. I had the app set to auto secure on cellular, but instead of connection I get a enter password dialog box that stops any and all interaction with the phone. The dialog box also is recurring. Sent logs via app hopefully this gets resolved soon.
