Looking forward to the fix

Shadowman615

Still keeps crashing and exiting, even with location services enabled. I definitely have location services enabled for this app and am allowing it to use my current location -- this does not fix the problem. Hopefully the update will correct it. Otherwise, the app gets the job done in a pinch, but still only gets 3 stars as it could use some improvement. Needs a better way to automate or streamline the process. At the moment I see is the ability to download images or movies to my PC one at a time from the web browser by right clicking and saving. Even saving just 5 or 6 pictures soon becomes tedious because every photo is given the same default filename of "img.jpg," rather than some unique name or the actual filename of the photo. So then I have to type a new filename for each one. For that much trouble it seems easier to just go get the cable.

App

iphone and ipod

This is a decent enough app if you want to transfer pics from your iPod to iPhone or iPad this is a great app for photo sharing or video

needs some work before it's a viable solution for me

I also got the crash and deleted the app before looking at it on the iTunes store to see what was up with it... so I enabled location for it and was able to connect via browser. The app in itself is not a bad app -- the unfortunate side of this is that the App Store is flooded with these exact same connect to your device via web browser that you're likely to get lost in the crowd. For your next version, I recommend that you do a couple of things... #1 is almost a bug in that any photo you try to save (and you have to save each photo manually) it defaults the name to img.jpg or something generic like that every single time... which means if the user is saving more than 1 picture, they're probably going to be asked if they want to overwrite the existing file. They have no choice but to manually type in a new filename for every single saved file... which is way too much work. I see in your URL you *have* the id number for the photo... why not append that id number to the end of the "img" part of the filename, and that would solve the same filename/overwrite issue... but that's a major one that needs to be fixed. Second, I think it would be a really good idea to implement some sort of archive/zip package, or at least SOME method to download all of the photos/videos on the page... otherwise it's just too much work for the user. I got tired of it after 2-3 photos, and I have like 250 on there right now. I know I use GoodReader to import my photos into it, then use it's sync feature to sync (either manually or automatically) to either a folder that I have set up on my hard drive (WebDAV folder), or any number of other options like FTP, SFTP, dropbox, google docs, sugarsync... and on and on. So that is my constructive criticism to you. The app got off on the wrong foot with the crashing issue, but that will soon be fixed... but your next focus HAS to be on less work for the user. More automation. If I have 250 photos on my phone, I don't want to have to click or right click and save as... 250 times, plus navigate through numerous pages of thumbnails. There are too many other ways that take almost no time or effort on the user's part to do this same task... If your app makes it anything less, the users will immediately shy away as I have for now. I'll keep an eye on your app and see how it progresses, but I do strongly suggest you take my advice as a user of your program, as I know I'm not the only one to think this. You can do it... it just will take some innovation and finding ways to streamline the process of getting the photos and videos FROM the device TO the computer, if that is your goal... If your goal is for your program to act merely as a "photo gallery" pull up when family comes over and they click on thumbnails as they want to see the pictures, that's not nearly as much of a problem, as it would be much better suited for that task: an instant wireless gallery of your Camera Roll. Good luck with it!

Got the job done

All I wanted to do was get pictures and videos made on an iPhone over to my MacBook. It took awhile, got "server not found" when entering the URL wifibox provided. Changed the port number a few times. Then suddenly after hitting "refresh" for the 50th time, a website appeared! Sure enough, all my pictures were available on an elegant web interface. Was afraid if I synched this iPhone with my Mac I'd blow away all the pics and apps on the iPhone, so this was the workaround I needed. Synched by creating a wifi network on my Mac since no wifi network was available. had I been on my home network this app may have worked more quickly.

Can't download w app

Nebakadnezar

As far as I can tell this app doesn't actually lat you transfer videos and pics to your pc, but just view them in the browser. Without being melodramatic, this is the most useless app inhale downloaded to date.

Works!

Good job!

Crashes constantly

RideRed530

I really wish this worked, but it will not transfer a video, no matter the size. I tried turning on location for it, rebooting, etc. Too bad.

works okay

UI needs a little work...would be nice to have the folders the images are in. also if you click next page too much the app dies. but it works and it's free (for now)

Waste of space

This app doesn't do what it says it does in the description. How did apple ever let this one through? The developer has a lot to fix in it...

Love this app
