Good product

Arange

This is a good product but the battery does not last as long as it should. It would be nice if you could link two devices to the same account so that you can charge one and still keep track of your dog. It is not worth having to pay double the fee. Also, I have five dogs so certainly can't afford one for each. The gps map is also outdated several years. The device is quite large and works ok on my standard poodle's collar but would be to big for my schnauzers collars.

Does the job but app needs a redo

First, once set up it does send texts when the dog leaves the zone. At that point you can track the dog and that goes pretty good. My guy is 9 years old and he doesn't move real fast for any long time. Easy to find. A younger quicker dog maybe would repeatedly be gone when you arrive at last reported location. But for me it's great. The app in a nutshell is a pos. I wrote software for 27 years and I'd create a new one from scratch, rather than try and fix this up. Beyond the notifications and tracking It's really bad. As many reviews point out it's often not easy to find what you want and many basic functions are needlessly complex. In trying to do something I've had it just crash multiple times. I might buy another but would research options first.

Pleased - but could be better

We have Husky - need I say more. This dog is an escape artist. Climbing, digging and possibly flying or teleporting - it seems. The GPS has helped us locate our dog a couple times. I say helped - yes it got us to a location that was within a few minutes of where the dog was. It is not live tracking! But it helped. So that's the good part. The bad part is that the period or checkin is not adjustable and it give my dog a five minute head start. For my dog that is a mile plus. This means the dog is well out of capture range without a vehicle chase. The battery life is okay but no where near the seven days advertised. More in the range of four days. It's not painful - just not as advertised. Overall I would suggest the Whistle as is it helpful. Just be aware of the limitations. TD

Poor battery life

Decent tracking unit but battery life has shortened to less than 10-hours after less than a year. Unsatisfactory performance!

Good app

Very good app to know when he gets out. Not very good on real time GPS LOCATIONS. First of its kind so the technology is continuing to get better. Sometimes doesn't track his activity. As a user that lives in a city, the smallest whistle zone is relatively big spanning almost 2x2 city blocks. I do like to use it when I'm away and he is at a friends house. Let's me know when he is walked, playing, and eating.

Worthless

According to customer support, the battery % shown is based on previous weeks' average activity. That is bizarre. So it could read 60% if your dog was not as active the previous week, but could actually be at 20%. If you're dog were to get lost, the battery would quickly die without notice. Not to mention, half the time our dogs leave the zone for walks etc. it takes 30 minutes or more to send a notification. Sometimes we return hours later and still never notified they had left. Activity tracking is nowhere near accurate either. I bought these for one reason: to find my dogs if lost. I would say right now it's 50/50 if it would work, at best.

Love it!

WanderingBuster

Love it. I have the version that doesn't require internet. Works great.

Located dog

Like the title found dog twice in woods before it got to any roads. Peace of mind for me while walking dog in woods. He's a deer lover and likes to chase.

The new version has a better battery life. The app is very slow. It I know my dog left, it taking over 60 minutes before the gps informations me that she has left the area. Updating take 10 minutes once my dog is found. This is very frustrating. ?

Hate the refresh rate!!!

meferro

I love tracking my dogs daily exercise. Hate the fact that it will only refresh once an hour!! I have missed our goal by a minute or two, to end a long streak of 379 days of meeting the goal, because it wasn't going to refresh again until after I was going to bed. If I pull down on the screen I want it to refresh each time I do that. I have ordered the new one, because my old one won't charge all the time, I am hoping they have improved their IOS interface on the new model.
