Change Back to the old app

GinaL.

The alerts are not very loud with this new voice announcement it’s terrible please change back to the old alert at least I could hear the voice announcement across the room. This new one it’s been changed to every since the Tornados hit on Memorial Day is the worst ever not good considering we have Tornado watches tonight and this boring monotone voice doesn’t catch your attention I had to download a different weather app. Please Fix this

Problems

Megsmac75

Among many problems with this new app version, one that sticks out to me is having to watch video to get a “watch” or “warning.” I have a child that is extremely disturbed by storms and it is not convenient to watch a video to find out if we are in a watch or warning. It also highly disturbs me that after a major weather catastrophe like we just had, I would have to try to dodge ads to even see the current conditions for my area. (After all, even that is very difficult to locate on this new app design.) I will give the design one more chance, but I will also be comparing other designs to this because a change maybe necessary. You can’t wait for change to happen that never does when it can mean life or death.

Big disappointment

After the constant push to download the WHIO weather app I decided to try it. I have to say that this is the most annoying app I’ve ever worked with. This weekend I was barraged with notifications of severe thunderstorm warnings and tornado watches and warnings. Unfortunately, I have no idea where all this was. When I tried to see the watch or warning, I got a video commercial and that was it. Why can I just read where the warning is? I don’t have time or the inclination to watch a video. This app is way to busy and not useful for me. Time to try something else.

Crashes & locks, ads block display

This app is poorly designed. If you open the app and then open it again after a couple of hours, it crashes with the message “Error unable to display data, check your wifi settings”. I have verified with many of my colleagues that they too are receiving the same message on both ipads and iphones when connected to wifi. There are too many large ads that obscure viewing the information on the screen. I could not even see the hourly forecast because of a huge Quest eseries rider ad. Surely WHIO has enough revenue to make an ad free app. As it stands, there are much better ad free weather apps to use.

Passed up on this app

Deleted it a while back. If the old app comes back or something better that is not a royal pain or frustrating, please announce it on T.V. Didn’t know there were so many horrible reviews as I thought it was just me. I was ready to come back until I read the reviews. Back to the App Store to try something else as my newest app (A major one) didn’t work out either due to location updating only once every 3 hours and taking way too long to open.

Latest update epic fail

I used to LOVE the WHIO weather app! Used to being the really important part of that sentence. Now I really don’t like it at all. I am considering going back to the Weather Channel app and I didn’t like it either. It is very hard to find alerts. I don’t want to watch a video about them. I just want to be able to quickly glance at the app to know what’s going on. I also don’t like the announcer that tells me heavy rain is detected in my area. I can see and hear that, and I usually see and hear it before the announcement comes. Where the heck did you guys put the current temperature?!?!? That used to be front and center. That’s what most people want to know. I don’t want to watch all the videos. I want to look at the app and see for myself. I never watched the forecast on the previous version, I’m not starting now. No one in the area that has this app that I have talked to likes it either. Please change it back!!!!!!

Don’t Like the New Look!

CityGirlOnTheGo

This used to be my favorite weather app, so much so that I was still using it for local weather while temporarily living out of state this year. Now it’s looks like the weather.com app and that’s not a good thing! It’s hard to read and too many dark colors. Please consider going back to the old simpler easy to read format. Sometimes less is more!!

Needs work still

It often will not change to new data from day to day.

How do I switch the thing to Fahrenheit? Apparently it will be in the high 30s all week here in San Antonio, TX. There is nothing on my phone settings or the application to change it. UPDATE! Well, I’m deleting it. I don’t read Celsius. Works fine on my iPad. 5 stars for the ipad.
