Does not work in offline mode.

mcomte

I was hoping to be able to display a website offline. Did the caching 4 levels deep. The application states it's 260mb big (the cache of that site) but when running it offline, the only thing it shows is a white page and selecting any URL will only show a white page. The moment I am connected I get the note that it will stream what is needed and then works (slow!). With other words, the application in its current state is impossible to use when wanting to present a website off line. IF it will get fixed and will work, the star rating would quickly go up to 4. I have not tried the other features as that is not what I was looking for.

Spectacular!

I'm not sure why others are having trouble with this app. Are you recording the link before you cache it? I'm not sure that's even necessary but I always do and everything caches fine when I go to manage the caches. It's far easier than using adobe acrobat to save websites and you can cache links on page you already have cached. This way you don't necessarily have to crawl the whole website to get as much of the website as you want. All you have to do is click on the link and chose to add to the cache, then go recache the website. I love this app and would pay more for it.

So sad...

Lluviauno

It's so sad when an "offline" program can't even cache a simple page of text... It's even sadder when $.99 is WAY too much money for the time, aggravation, and disappointment!

Not bad

ابوهاشم الشريف

This Program is good but must contain the next update on the option to select download from the Web site and the only one without leaving him to several locations where it would cause the length of the download, And In this case, I can give the program five stars

Not so great

Crashes when trying to recall the site you archive. Please improve.

Requires WiFi?

Sizematters875

I just wanted to save a 20KB webpage for offline reading and I need a wifi connection. What a PITA. I don't even know if it works yet.

Works great

I bought this app because I needed to view an online portfolio offline. It worked great. The interface is not very intuitive. On your first project it is a little confusing. A walk through or step by step would be helpful. Basically you put in a URL, and the app does nothing. And then you have to edit it and hit the cache button and then it works great. We grabbed a Wordpress portfolio and it downloaded 400 or so files Ina few minutes. It loads just like it would Ina browser. Also when the snapshot is done being made the screen sort of hangs and you still have to hit cancel. It does not switch to finished. So that is sort of confusing. Beyond those small gripes it is a great app. Just could use a little polishing.

Excellent!

It works great. I used it to archive my website portfolio so I can show it to clients without wifi. I highly recommend it.

Worth buying!

It IS a good app. It does what you need, has two options for saving pages, and allows you to manage them well. Even caching 500 pages doesn't take more than 10 minutes at most, though the prospect of caching something at 3,000 pages (when I'd only need less than a quarter of those pages, but don't want to go through them by hand) discourages me from using the web crawler. However, I believe you can add/erase links before caching, so this may simply be laziness on my part. I do have some suggestions, though. we should have the option to only recache the new link, and not the whole thing. 1. If you add a link to a file that's already been cached, 2. Would be nice to have folders for organization, although the search option negates this as being a necessity. 3. More description regarding the crawler option would be helpful. The sliding bar is nice, but text description would be useful clarification. This app very occasionally glitches, but fixes itself after you pop in and out of it again. I haven't lost a single thing I've saved, though I have lost something I was in the middle of recording. Wasn't a big deal, just did it again. All in all, the best app for the job I've found, and it's reliable. Would recommend.

Love it!

Hard worker in marketing

Wow! I'm in Internet marketing and we have to be able to show our website to possible customers. When there's not wifi around, we use this app to demonstrate our website on our iPad. What we love most about it is that we can cache entire sites with the crawler option. One downside is that our site is very large and caching the entire site takes a long time, but that's not the apps fault that our site is large. I would recommended this app to anyone any day.
