I have beaten this game multiple times with different characters and I love it. It is possible!

This is a fantastic game. I highly recommend it. I was weary at first but as I played it I became more and more impressed. I love how hard it is (people here talking about saves can go play mario) and the loot is surprisingly satisfying. This is one of the best roguelikes I've played from the App Store, not to mention of the most unique takes on my favorite genre! Thanks Waz, whoever you are!

This game is amazing but it doesn't get the support it deserves. I love playing as the hunter and using beast mastery to get a massive army.

I've played this game in all its incarnations: rogue, Angband, NetHack, etc. This is the same game, now with great 3D graphics and easy to play on a tablet! I am still addicted and have deleted all the other games on my tablet!

Update: Apparently I was quite a bit wrong about this game being in early days. The lone update did not add much other than bugs. Among other things, reflection, a pretty critical gameplay mechanic, is broken. I love how hard this game is, but even minor bugs are amplified by that amount of difficulty into an tantalizingly close to playable mess. I would caution against anyone paying for this game until a subsequent update. Old Review: Incredibly well done adaptation/reinterpretation of Nethack. After ascending each type of character, however, I don't find it to have the same replay value of its ancestor. Truth be told, it was getting a little monotonous even before that, but I think/hope this game is in early days, and after spending every dollar I could on it ($8), I believe it to have been a hell of a steal. I'd have easily paid double and still found it a bargain for the enjoyment I received. Well done Waz!

I should mention I got into the original Rogue on a friend's 8088 DOS box back in the 80s. Waz blends classic Rogue with modern visuals (the animations aren't the BEST, but they're more than good enough to keep you entertained and engaged), dark humor, and loads of originality. This game offers a blend of variety and randomness that makes for endless replayability—it's also really difficult! Just like the classics it pays homage to, don't expect to get far without practice, strategy, and a good dose of luck. I'm convinced the negative reviews were written by folks who didn't give the game a fair chance or simply don't enjoy (or aren't good at) the genre. Those who do will inevitably find themselves going back for "just ONE more try"... over and over again.

Great game with nearly endless playability, and very worth paying $0.99 for a few pairs of characters. - Great difficulty, and very deep systems that interplay - You always stumble upon something new, no two playthroughs are alike - Colorful, exciting, and easy to learn and grow your skills. I highly recommend this game to anyone looking for an exciting dungeon crawler with exciting gameplay, and tons of content.
