Fake reviews I think

Graphically, it's worse the the original Nintendo games. Game play is silly, move through dungeon and hack at pixelated figures of enemies, I don't know what people are talking about when they talk this game up and for $6.99, it's absurd to me.

Great but not without problems

First off this game is hard too hard sometimes it seems but things can eventually get easy when you practice but I have a few problems. First off I got to the diamond dungeon and my game crashed halfway through and now I can't get any more hats and the first achievement for the cultist isn't real clear on what you're supposed to do and when I did find out what to do the achievement still won't unlock but even with those 2 tiny problems it's still really fun and I'd recommend to check it out.

Best game on the App Store!

W.S is possibly the best game on the iOS market! It has tons of content and HUGE replay ability! I love this game!

16-bit Dark Souls

Prepare to die... A lot. This devilishly charming game is pretty to look at, easy to control, yet challenging to master. Having no pay-to-win micro transactions, this game rewards skill, perseverance, and learning through dying. The character-classes are all unique and offer widely varied gameplay with their own individual storylines. It's as if Secret of Mana, Spelunky, and Dark Souls were blended together in a very enjoyable way. If you enjoyed any of these titles, do yourself a favor and get this.

Great game but not without its faults

I absolutely love this game, but it crashes sometimes. I was defeating a boss and it was about to die when it crashed. Also with the blue warp pads it crashes most of the time. Great game love the hats and love all of the achievements. Definitely download this one.

Hope they keep on keepin' on

When I first got Magegauntlet two years ago, I instantly respected its gameplay and lighthearted, but enthralling story. I assumed Rocketcat games would make the obvious monetary decision and follow up on Lexi's story- so, when Wayward souls first came out I was disappointed at what I saw as a break from a better franchise for a quick dark souls money grab. Fortunately, nothing could be further from the truth; in fact, the story of Wayward souls is tangentially connected with mage gauntlet, showing that Rocketcat is both willing to take risks with wide ranges of games and are sitting on what I can only imagine is a goldmine of lore. Everything here has been tweaked to make a completely fresh game, from the gloomier tone, beautiful but haunting music, (seriously; Joey Grady, you deserve a bonus or prize or something), and clever new designs for both your character(s) and enemies. Additionally, the dash button from Magegauntlet has been replaced with swiping up and down for all sorts of new, but limited abilities; spells, shields, lanterns, e.t.c. This leads to my only gripe with the game- I wish there was an abilities button option instead of the slightly awkward swipe. Maybe it's just me- I don't know. That's just a small issue in an otherwise creative and interesting game that has a fascinating story and timeline in the vein of Zelda or Marvel. Of course, this game wouldn't be complete with some of Rocketcat's quirky humor- for example, I ran into a wizard who was going to take over the world with his pie recipe of doom. This game is definitely worth more than what they're asking for, especially considering that there are absolutely zero in app purchases. In short, please buy this and support a wonderful game by a wonderful company so that they can continue making their unique and fascinating universe grow. ( Rocketcat, if you ever read this, please make Magegauntlet two! I know it would be great.)

Fantastic Dungeon Crawler

The97thSarge

Amazing rouge-like dungeon crawler. You will die. A lot. But there's a lot of content, I've had the game for over a year and still haven't finished it (Thorned Temerators are the bane of my existence). The game is very entertaining, with enjoyable references to Mage Gauntlet. The most important thing to note is that you NEED to understand how each class is meant to be played, because you will die early and often if you don't. Why only a four star rating for such a great game? The difficulty between dungeons ramps up immensely.
