Great game and concept

However the developer needs to hire an artist to create illustrated characters and items. The current ones look like they were made in MS paint.

Like its predecessor, the Barcode Battler, Warcode essentially crunches numbers to decide the outcome of a battle. The graphics are pretty lame, and although you can scan in any barcode you find and turn them into weapons or soldiers, the powerful ones prompt you to pay $1.99 for the "full" version of the game before they can be used. Seeing as how the game crashes every time I try to advance past level 1, I don't think that's gonna happen.
Shows potential.

I've been waiting on a decent barcode game for the iPhone for a while now and this one finally delivered. And even though the potential is unreached at this point, I am enthusiastic as this app is only around a month old at this point. I recommend it, it will only get better with time.

Needs way more variety of creatures to find. Also the ability to free battle ALL of your army vs ALL of your friends real time with AI (you choose nothing, just watch the outcome based on what you have) would be awesome. They AI could 'choose' the equipment as well.

In Warcode, what fighters you get are entirely dependent on what country the barcodes come from. Since I am in the US, all I have ever received are Indians and Soldiers, nothing else. The only time I was lucky enough to scan a Japanese barcode, I got a Ninja. Also, you have to pay 2 dollars for the "secret" powerful warriors, which turn out to be more Soldiers and Indians. On top of that, the graphics are just bland, there's no animation, and the battles are simply monotonous. I think an actual Barcode Battler would have been preferable to this, at least you could have made your own varied warrior cards with that.

This game has amazing potential, it really does, but the creator definitely needs to focus on this game and bring us a heavy update. $1.99 really isn't much money for a game like this IF it was worked on even just a little more.
